This summers programs include:
SPO.T. in the park
July 25-29th Monday to Friday 9.45 – 11.30am for 3 – 5 year olds
This group provides children with varied sensory and motor activities in a playful and therapeutic atmosphere to enhance motor development and sensory exploration. Children will participate in a variety of fine and gross motor games. Aspects from the Handwriting Without Tears preschool program will be used.
Printing in the Park
July 25-29th Monday to Friday 11.30 – 12.30 for 5 – 8 year olds
Children in this group will work on pencil grasp, in hand manipulation skills, letter formation (primarily lowercase), kinesthetic printing, shoulder stability and more! A different group of letters will be targeted each day. Group will start out with full body warm-ups and move into small group rotation through assorted activities. Each child will start a Handwriting Without Tears workbook in the group and then take it home at the end of groups to complete at home.
Introduction to The Alert Program: “How Does Your Engine Run?”®
July 25-28th – Plus a post-group follow up phone consult. 6:30-7:30 p.m for 6 to 9 year olds
Children will learn concepts from The Alert Program® and participate in activities to learn about what makes their engines run in high, low and just right. (www.alertprogram.com)
Parents will review daily work at home between sessions. Children will complete an engine tool list on their final day to go away with strategies that they can start to use at home.

Participants come from diverse professional backgrounds including occupational therapy, teaching, and school administration. Get Set For School™ Workshop
The award-winning Get Set for School™ Pre-K program uses lively music and playful activities to help young children build a solid foundation for school success.
This upbeat workshop introduces a readiness curriculum full of developmentally appropriate activities that teach children about letters, body awareness, numbers, sequencing, and sharing in a fun, engaging, and informal manner. The Get Set for School™ Pre-K workshop is an introductory level class.
Kindergarten – 5th Grade Workshop
The comprehensive, easy-to-use curriculum uses engaging multi-sensory techniques and research-based methods to make handwriting a natural and automatic skill for children of all ages and abilities. They use a fun hands-on approach to develop good skills and teach correct letter formation.
The Handwriting Without Tears® Kindergarten-5th Grade workshop provides dynamic instruction in the teaching methodology from kindergarten through cursive. The Kindergarten-5th Grade workshop is an intermediate level class.
